Doha MUN 2027

Compared with dohamun.org today

New in this build

The site has been redesigned, so every page looks unfamiliar. Very little of it is actually new information — most pages say what the old ones said, better. This page is the short list of what genuinely was not there before, so nothing on the site arrives as a surprise.

Destinations

Three pages that did not exist

Everything else in the navigation has an equivalent on the old site. These three do not, which is why they sit together under one item rather than alongside the pages you already know.

Delegates

The procedural reference, in full and in both languages: every point and motion, what may interrupt a speaker, a glossary pairing each term in Arabic and English, and the questions schools ask most. The old site answered none of this, so it was answered by email.

Delegates

Secretariat

Who runs the conference and what each post is responsible for — and, because appointments are not made yet, which posts are still open and how to be considered. It names no student, which is deliberate: the empty state here is the true one.

Secretariat

Venue

The hall, the eight committee rooms, registration, prayer and quiet rooms, and getting to Education City. The old navigation had a Venue item; there was no Venue page behind it.

Venue

Behaviour

Five things the site now does

Not pages, so nothing in the navigation announces them. They are on every page already, and a reader finds them by accident unless somebody says so.

The whole site in Arabic

Not a translated page or two: every heading, label, date and committee topic exists in both languages, the layout mirrors right-to-left, numerals switch to Arabic-Indic, and the العربية control keeps you on the page you were reading.

Search

Every committee, session, deadline, role, document and question is indexed. ⌘K or the magnifier opens it; with JavaScript off the same search runs on the server and returns a normal results page.

Deadlines that know the date

The countdown to the opening ceremony is live, and every deadline carries a status — open, closing soon, closed — worked out from today rather than typed in. Nobody has to remember to update a badge.

A floor plan you can use

The venue plan is drawn, not photographed, and each zone answers for itself when you select it. No embedded map, so nothing on the page reports a visitor to a third party.

A dark theme

Follows the device by default and can be set by hand from the masthead. The choice is remembered and applied before the page paints, so switching never flashes white.

One item was renamed, not added

The old Conference page is now Committees, because that is what the page is: the eight committees, their agenda topics, working languages and seat counts. The old address still needs pointing at the new one when this goes live.

Bring your delegation

School registration for Doha MUN 2027 is handled by a teacher or MUN coordinator. Register the school first; delegates are named later.
